Free Stuff and Offer News and Information.

BBC Response

Further to Clarkes blog from last week, the offending video has been removed from the BBC website, whether this was a tacit admission of guilt I will leave up to you. To remove something the UK taxpayer had paid for without any sort of fight seems to be conclusive…

The Answers.com definition of spam is as follows: “Unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups; junk e-mail.” It should be pointed out that the emails that were being claimed to be Spam in the BBC article were part of the join-up process for Free UK Stuff which had been requested by the person making the video and are sent on a one-by one basis by our system. These emails are in place to check that members are who they say they are, and contain no advertising material or links to other sites.

By signing up for Free UK Stuff the only other emails you will be sent are weekly emails with the best freebies and new stuff just added, there is a prominent link at the foot of the page to unsubscribe from receiving these communications and double opt in proceedure to sign up for them.

Free UK Stuff abides both by the letter of the law and the spirit of all UK and EU privacy legislation that has been made law in the last few years, parent company UK Internet Sites Ltd are proud to go further and be at the forefront of progress to ensure that spamming and loss of privacy are a thing of the past!

As the person who deals with support emails from members, I can confirm that our members understand when we will send them emails and what will contained in them.
